Pardon the pun, but veterinary practices are hard on hardware.  Computers run for eight to ten hours each day (or more!) and are often left on overnight.  Dust, pet hair, and pet dander are plentiful, and when they get inside a computer, they can cause overheating, impede performance, and shorten the lifespan considerably.
