Oshkosh, WI (March 13, 2013) - ImproMed, LLC, a subsidiary of Butler Schein Animal Health, today announced modifications to ImproMed Triple Crown v3.0 and Infinity v5.1 practice management software packages for compliance with the elimination of the Canadian penny.
Infinity v5.1 and Triple Crown v3.0 software packages will, after installation of mid-February service releases, be compliant with the removal of the Canadian penny. The addition of a “smallest available coin” option, located in Triple Crown & Infinity invoicing modules, will allow this compliance by applying government approved rounding guidelines.
“The version change for our customers was a reaction to the news that as of Tuesday, February 5, 2013, the Royal Canadian Mint will cease distributing pennies,” stated Bill Randolph, ImproMed’s Vice-President of Technical Services. “Eliminating the penny will only affect invoices by a maximum of 2 cents, and then only if you are giving cash back to the customer. Any electronic payments or check payments are still exact amounts.”
Compliance modifications are currently offered via Infinity v5.1 and Triple Crown v3.0 service releases; Canadian practices utilizing earlier versions of these software packages will need to update to the latest version to ensure compliance. Compliant Vetech Advantage & Advantage+Releases will be released in the near future.
