The employees of ImproMed, Inc., the world leader in the development of veterinary management software, established a "Support Our Troops" fund in November 2004; that same group is now donating over $600 to local and national animal shelters in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
A portion of this contribution will be given to ImproMed's local Wisconsin animal shelter, the Oshkosh Humane Society. The Oshkosh Humane Society received 10-15 animals affected by Katrina. They also will be sending as many as three cargo vans to the affected areas in the near future to rescue more animals and bring supplies to animal shelters.
The remaining portion of the donation will be sent to the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where the need for animal shelter contributions is overwhelming.
"The 'Support our Troops' group felt a need to offer their support and donations to the welfare of needy animals during this nationals crisis," said Michael Grey, ImproMed's Controller, "in addition to the regular contributions already allocated for the troops overseas."
