Oshkosh, WI (February 2, 2009) – ImproMed, Inc. is pleased to announce that Animal Health Care of Chesaning of Chesaning, MI, has been chosen as the 2008 ImproMed Community Contributor of the Year Award recipient. Each year, ImproMed presents this award to a client that provides outstanding contributions to their local community.
The clinic was selected because it regularly opens its door to local school tours, educates proper pet care to children, coaches youth sports programs, sponsors the local high school through advertisements, and provides job shadowing for high school and local college students interested in the veterinary profession, including observing or riding along with one of the clinic’s large animal veterinarians on farm calls.
Not only do the owners, Dr.’s Tim and Cindy Weisenberger, and associate Dr. Curtis Shoup, expect their staff to focus on community involvement through education and sponsorships, they provide donations to various local organizations. Such donations include gift giving at Christmas to less fortunate families, contributions to the Hartley Nature Center to support its affiliation with Murphy Farm, food to local humane societies, discounts on spays and neuters, and monetary assistance to Chesaning’s CAER (Chesaning Area Emergency Relief) Center and their local FFA.
Teri, a technician at the practice, also takes the time to lead a 4H club called “Dusty Dudes” and is an Advisory Council Member for Saginaw County.
“We here at Animal Health Care of Chesaning truly love helping our communities to keep them strong and to keep traditions going,” submitted Diana Shoup, the clinic’s office manager. “We help to contribute financially and with our physical support. We enjoy doing this and passing it on to our upcoming generations. We are thankful that the communities allow us to help throughout the years.”
ImproMed is proud to acknowledge Animal Health Care of Chesaning for all of their outstanding achievements with the 4th Annual ImproMed Community Contributor of the Year award, and has awarded the clinic with an engraved glass plaque, ImproMed hats, a $75 ImproMed gift card and a $25 RmCards.com gift card.
Although not the top recipient in for the 2008 Community Contributor of the Year Award, ImproMed commends Brack Animal Hospital in Ontario, Canada, for its Honorable Mention. In 2008, Brack Animal Hospital raised $7,000 for charities like Canadian Guide Dogs, their local humane society, and wildlife rescues. The money was raised by the staff through creative means such as an animal art raffle where animal created the art, staff luncheons, and candy and pet treat sales.
