Oshkosh, WI (July 28, 2009) – ImproMed, Inc. is announcing today that it has completed the acquisition of the Windermere, FL, practice management software company Sunpoint Software, Inc.
An international company, Sunpoint Software, Inc. was founded in 1984 by Mary Oakes, and has since been serving the veterinary profession with quality veterinary practice management software.
With the acquisition comes a strengthening for ImproMed, and for Sunpoint users. Sunpoint users will now be supported by ImproMed’s Transition Team and its other 85+ employees, as well as other benefits including the opportunity to advance to ImproMed’s practice management software Infinity, and the chance to participate in ImproMed’s Online Data Storage Program, Application Support, Hardware Support, Operating System Support and 24/7 Support.
Because training is an important part of ongoing satisfaction with Sunpoint users, ImproMed will also be providing these users with the industry-exclusive ImproMed University, iCAN (Infinity Community Access Network), free Webinars and attendance to ImproMed sponsored Webinar Series’, on-site education, Continuing Education CDs, and ImproMed Continuing Education Labs.
“Despite the current challenging economic times, ImproMed is still growing because of the strength of our software and our employees. In addition to the Sunpoint acquirement, we are actively pursuing and interested in growing ImproMed through additional acquisitions,” said Ron Detjen, ImproMed’s President and CEO.
“The completion of this acquisition represents a significant step for ImproMed and the veterinary industry. Today, we increased our presence in the market and with the purchase now complete, ImproMed is a stronger, more broadly based company than ever before."
“Merging ImproMed with my customers provides Sunpoint users with flexibility so they can keep up with changing business conditions,” said Mary Oakes. “I am thrilled to stay on board and work with the ImproMed team because ImproMed is a valued company in the veterinary industry and shares Sunpoint’s core values.”
The M&A experts at Baker Tilly Capital advised ImproMed on the Sunpoint Software transaction and have been engaged to assist the company with its overall acquisition program. "As the largest fully independent provider of practice management software for the veterinary industry, ImproMed is in a unique position to offer owner operators creative exit strategies that are tailored to meet their personal goals and objectives,” said Brenen Sieber, Managing Director of Baker Tilly Capital, LLC.
ImproMed was rated #1 in Client Satisfaction in the 2008 Trends survey, and is a world-leading developer and provider of business and medical management software for the veterinary industry.
