Oshkosh, WI (January 23, 2008) – ImproMed, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Heather Schwedt of Countryside Veterinary Clinic in Ellicott City, MD, is the recipient of ImproMed’s 2007 Outstanding Veterinary Contributor Award. This is the third year ImproMed has selected a client that provides outstanding contributions to the veterinary community to receive this award.
ImproMed commends Dr. Heather Schwedt, DVM, of Countryside Veterinary Clinic for her exemplary patient care and dedication to her job.
“Dr. Schwedt spends countless hours reviewing every case,” submitted one of the clinic’s veterinary assistants, Ms. Anna Baran. “She comes into the clinic on her days off to make sure her patients have the best continuity of care possible, she spends hours on the phone with specialists, stays late almost every night and spends whatever free time she has donating her services to local shelters.”
When contacted about her surprise nomination and win, Dr. Schwedt said “I do consider conscientious patient care, client communication and education to be of the utmost importance. I always strive towards living up to the highest standards in those regards every day. Helping a patient feel better and a client understand what is happening with their pet is, of course, the best reward.”
Dr. Schwedt received a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999, and earned her DVM from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She has been working at Countryside Veterinary Clinic since graduation from Cornell.
